Keira Knightley’s new film “The Duchess” is out and, it is reported, she excels in the lead role. This lavish costume drama set in the English high society of the 1760s, is more than meets the ravishing eye. Knightley's character, the Duchess of Devonshire, Georgiana Spencer, is like an 18th century Princess Diana, battling against her temptations, the Establishment and her terrible husband. Packed with drama, political intrigue and sexual passion, the movie also features Ralph Fiennes, Charlotte Rampling, Dominic Cooper and Hayley Atwell.
It is about the 18th century “It girl”, Georgiana Spencer, Princess Diana’s great-great-great-great aunt. There are obvious parallels between the two lives, though Keira Knightley was not immediately struck by them, as she says, she was only 11 years old when Diana died.
In the meanwhile, Keira Knightley spoofed at reports that she was the second highest paid Hollywood actress. In reviews on the movie, The Duchess, there were assessments of her pout as the sexiest among Hollywood celebrity females.
